Covid 19 and Remote Learning

The onset of Covid 19 has changed the landscape for learning and private music instruction.

Your safety is my biggest concern

I offer virtual lessons both on FaceTime and Zoom. While I believe these platforms do not replace in-person learning, they do offer a safe alternative during these uncertain times.

Remote and virtual learning also provide for options when either geography or logistics present a challenge.

For in-person study, my Soquel Studio is spacious and well ventilated. I also have a custom sneeze guard that I have been using for added safety.

Even before Covid, I began practicing simple techniques to provide for a more “touch-free” lesson experience. I never physically contact or touch students, but instead use a pointer or even the tip of a pencil eraser to demonstrate finger placement.

It’s a new world out there, but my own learning curve has propelled me into new ways of teaching that I did not previously imagine.
